Intent

Our Music curriculum aims to provide all children with the skills, knowledge and understanding they need in order to:

• Develop singing, use of tuned and untuned instruments and aural awareness.
• Appreciate and enjoy range of musical styles and traditions from different cultures.
• Use music and singing outside of music lessons e.g. assemblies, performances, playground games.
• Develop their understanding and, where appropriate, application of tempo, beat, pulse, pitch, rhythm, timbre.
• To develop confidence and express themselves using voice or instruments.
• Prepare short pieces using voice or instruments and to reflect on those.
