Intent

The Science curriculum at Honeywell Infant School aims to provide all children with the skills, knowledge and understanding they need in order to:

• Be and see themselves as a scientist
• Learn about a range of diverse scientists and the contributions they have made
• Build a body of key foundational knowledge
• Deepen understanding through exploration and play
• Work scientifically, asking questions and exploring ideas
• Communicate ideas using accurate scientific vocabulary 
• Appreciate the role of science in everyday life and the world’s future prosperity
• Foster curiosity and a sense of excitement about the natural world
• Make links in their learning, identifying relevancy and purpose
