Home-School Agreement

At Honeywell we believe it is important to create a culture of learning where all children will be challenged in their thinking, to achieve to the best of their abilities and strive to become lifelong learners. This can be done most effectively when all staff, parents and children work together towards the same goals.  At the beginning of your child's time at Honeywell we ask all parents to sign our Home-School Agreement, the content of which is set out below:

The school will:

  • Provide your child with a high standard of education and offer a broad and balanced curriculum.

  • Provide the opportunities needed to enable your child to achieve their full potential.

  • Celebrate your child’s academic and personal achievements.

  • Care for your child’s safety and well-being.

  • Ensure that the learning environment is engaging and stimulating.

  • Set, mark and monitor homework in line with the school’s policy for each year group.

  • Teach your child to develop a positive attitude to one another, and value the diverse cultural and social backgrounds of all children.

  • Encourage your child to become an active member within our community and help them to see that they can have an impact on the world around them.

  • Regularly meet with you to communicate the progress of your child, celebrating their strengths and explaining how we can support them in their areas for development.

  • Provide information to you about our school, including relevant policies, meetings, workshops, activities, via newsletters, and the school website.

  • Be very happy to welcome you if you would like to support children in class or contribute to our school’s broader curriculum.

The family will:

  • Make sure that my child arrives at school on time and is picked up promptly.

  • Ensure my child attends regularly, only take holidays during school holiday periods.

  • Let the school know of any concerns or worries that may be affecting my child’s learning, behaviour or ability to do homework, as this can then be resolved quickly.

  • Attend meetings with my child’s teacher and other staff, aiming to be positive and productive, working towards moving my child on in their learning.

  • Support and work with the school to ensure that my child follows the school rules and behaves well.

  • Endeavour to provide a safe, secure and happy environment at home for my child.

  • Encourage a positive attitude towards my child’s education and the school. If I have any concerns, I will come and discuss them with the school.

  • Read all information sent home as this gives me important details of relevant policies, meetings, workshops, activities etc.
